Affected Jersey bulls appeared to have decreased severity of midpiece disruption compared to other breeds and may have a separatse mode of inheritance [3] . Severely affected bulls are sterile and affected bulls do not recover [29] .

A similar defect to that commonly seen in the bull was described in a Standardbred stallion that suffered subfertility by Hellander et al. [129] as well as an English Bulldog by Rota et al. [130] .
